VAIKOBI PARTNERS WITH BRETT BEYER ON DINGHY PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

One of the world's most awarded Laser sailors Brett Beyer has just claimed another victory, winning the Laser Masters World Championship in Mexico for a record 14th time! There is no one on the planet who has accumulated as many Laser Cubes as Brett Beyer (Last count was 78 Laser Cubes!)

But that’s not the only thing Brett is celebrating this month; Vaikobi is thrilled to finally announce a top secret design collaboration with Beyer, as the fast growing Australia sailing brand extends its range of dinghy sailing gear and hiking-specific products.

Not just by namesake; this partnership is an authentic collaboration that has sought Beyer’s professional laser sailing and Olympic coaching expertise, using his feedback to develop hikers that will undoubtedly help sailors of all ages and experience reach maximum performance across a range of conditions. There are also future product developments in the works through this partnership with Beyer.

Bart Milczarczyk, Head Designer at Vaikobi regularly works with their team of ocean athletes to seek their expert opinions and experiences on the water. The Athletes test gear and provide Bart with valuable feedback to ensure the designs are tested and perfected before they hit the market.

This collaboration has seen Brett and Bart reunite and work together on Vakobi’s brand new Dinghy Hikers that will be launched to market in 2023.

“For such a critical piece of equipment, it has been vital to have an expert on the project to help guide the product development and testing program. Our mission is to create the best hikers in the world, and Brett’s expert advice from racing and coaching has been crucial to the Vaikobi design process for this particular product.” says Milczarczyk.

“Teamwork is an essential part of any truly successful project, so we needed the right people to contribute the right advice and provide the best feedback. Brett Beyer has probably more hiking experience than just about anyone on the planet across both his own sailing as well as his coaching, so his advice and feedback is invaluable.” says Vaikobi Founder and Owner, Pat Langley.

Brett Beyer commented that: “We’ve worked hard, tested and put a lot of effort into these hikers, which is the same approach I have to my own campaigning. My own values of honesty and effort align with the Vaikobi brand, so I’m really excited to see our hiking gear make a difference to the experience of sailors who need to hike in training and racing. The Vaikobi team are a breath of fresh air to the sport of sailing and it has been an absolute pleasure to be working with them on this exciting project. I am very much looking forward to seeing the new products launch into the market”.

Vaikobi’s Season 2023 range will be packed with innovative products, designed to improve sailors' comfort and performance on the water. Stay tuned for future updates in coming months with new product announcements.

Fit Tips

If one of your body measurements is in between two sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your body measurements for hips and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, order the one indicated by your hip measurement.

How To Measure

WAIST: Measure around the narrowest part (typically where your body bends side to side), keeping the tape horizontal.
HIPS: Measure around the widest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.
CHEST: Measure the fullest area of your chest. Stand up straight and breath normally.
