Michele is the current ICF SurfSki World Champion, and has won the Cape Point Challenge 4 times, as well as many international SurfSki races, including 2 wins at the Nelo Summer challenge and 3 at the famous Dubai Shamaal.

She is also an Olympian, and was a finalist in Beijing (2008). She is an accomplished marathon paddler, in both flat water (bronze medal in 2007, and 3x 4th places) as well as river paddler (3x South African Champion, 2x winner of the Fish River Marathon, and the tough 244km Berg River Marathon, and the famous Sella Descent in Spain.

Michele is the Sprint High Performance Director for USA Canoe/Kayak, and also coaches an elite level group of athletes.
