VAIKOBI VCOLD PERFORMANCE- HOW IT WORKS!

May 04, 2016

The Vaikobi range of VCOLD Performance ocean wear has been growing in popularity over the past three years with an increasing number of ocean athletes all discovering the performance benefits of this range when training and racing in cool to cold conditions. But what is VCOLD Performance all about and why it is so good?...Read on...

What is VCOLD PERFORMANCE?

The VCOLD PERFORMANCE line up of products has been specifically designed to primarily control body temperature for maximum performance whilst paddling in cool to cold conditions.

This line up of gear features our innovative VCOLD PERFORMANCE hybrid of fabrications which are tremendously light & flexible whilst maintaining optimum body temperature for peak performance in cool to cold conditions.

Each item in the range has been specifically designed for the paddle athlete to provide unrestricted range of movement and each fabrication has been carefully positioned to ensure optimal thermal regulation.

KEY FEATURES:
SUPERIOR BODY TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT
UNRESTRICTED RANGE OF MOVEMENT
INNOVATIVE DESIGN & FABRICATION FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE IN COOL TO COLD CONDITIONS

How does each VCOLD piece work?
The V Cold Pant is used on the lower part of the body across cool to cold conditions and then you can choose which top you wish to wear depending the apparent air temperature and also the intensity of the effort.

The VCOLD STORM PADDLE PANT  is the workhorse in the range and is worn as soon as the apparent air temperature gets below 16°C/ 60°F. The Storm Paddle Pant is extremely comfortable and has an amazing ability to keep you warm and comfortable without overheating. The big thigh muscles stay protected and warm to provide maximum leg drive whilst the hydrofleece panel around the back of the waist provides a nice touch to ensure your lower back and kidneys stay warm at all times.  Overall this pant is the top selling item in the VCOLD line up and has received high acclaim from paddle athletes around the world.

For VCOLD tops- you have two options:

1. The VCOLD BASE L/S TOP is the lighter weight of the two tops and provides a perfect lightweight thermal solution for cool conditions to keep warm without over heating. This top can be worn comfortably once the apparent air temperature gets below 16°C/ 60°F. Made from our super light hydrofleece fabrication, the V COLD BASE L/S TOP features tremendous thermal ability for it's weight. Combined with our hydromesh breathable side panel, this top cannot be beaten for paddle comfort and performance.

2. The NEW VCOLD STORM L/S TOP is the perfect top for really cold and wet conditions where you need to keep warm whilst maintaining a full range of movement without overheating. If it is cold and you plan on spending time in the water (i.e. Surf Life Saving disciplines), you would wear this top earlier than you would if you were staying above the water surface.
Designed for maximum comfort and freedom of movement whilst paddling, the VCOLD STORM L/S TOP  features a large seamless hydrofleece panel under the arm and down the side of the body which also increases breathability.

How should it fit?

The VCOLD PERFORMANCE range is designed to provide optimal thermal regulation and comfort for the paddle athlete. As such, the VCOLD PERFORMANCE products are fitted and should be worn firm, but not tight or restrictive. If the user feels tight or restricted, they need to go one size up. The product however should never be baggy or loose on the body.

Where can I try it on?

Fit Tips

If one of your body measurements is in between two sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your body measurements for hips and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, order the one indicated by your hip measurement.

How To Measure

WAIST: Measure around the narrowest part (typically where your body bends side to side), keeping the tape horizontal.
HIPS: Measure around the widest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.
CHEST: Measure the fullest area of your chest. Stand up straight and breath normally.
