I was looking for a top that could be mixed with very cold and milder under layers and this is it. Used in freezing conditions with VCOLD layer and also just with a rash top. Wind proof and water resistant and really well made. Inner lining around next provides comfort. Back comes down to protect seat area.
This is a great winter and colder, rainy day vest! I love the 2 exterior hand pockets that have plenty of room. The fleece around the neck is very nice and doesn't rub the wrong way when it gets wet. Paddled in 35 Fahrenheit with the VCold Flex pants, UV long-sleeve, and this vest, and I was super warm, if not too warm! The long chest zipper made it very easy to regulate body temps during hard efforts. I use it both for Surf Ski and Stand Up Paddling. I'm 175lbs, 5 foot 7 inches tall (67 inches), and a medium fits perfect with plenty of room for extra layers underneath.
I never quite understood the attraction of a vest for kayaking, right up until I tried one. I would never go back now. No matter how tough you are, there are just some mornings in winter when it is just to wet, cold and miserable to be happy. Those mornings are what this vest is for. Keeps the wind out, keeps the core dry, even has water proof pockets. Wet and cold I combine it with something from the VCOLD range and it keeps me super comfy. Wet spring and autumn days I combine it with something lighter and stay relatively dry and don't get hot.
Vest is good for winters, other gear will test summer
Very comfortable for paddling and have used it for cool morning bike rides.

If one of your body measurements is in between two sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your body measurements for hips and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, order the one indicated by your hip measurement.
WAIST: Measure around the narrowest part (typically where your body bends side to side), keeping the tape horizontal.
HIPS: Measure around the widest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.
CHEST: Measure the fullest area of your chest. Stand up straight and breath normally.
