Really good hiking pants
I got interested in these after having seen them in an ad on FB. I got back to dinghy sailing three yrs ago, after a 35 yr break. I sailed a lot but I developed lower back pain last year. I figured these hikers would help stabilize and complement my core strength exercises in the gym. I ordered M since that was the right size according to all columns in size guide except waist. They arrived and were disappointingly to small. I contacted customer service who swiftly arranged for an exchange. Very friendly service by Louise. Now L arrived and they exceeded my expectations. I have sailed twice starting with pain but after hiking for over an hour my pain is gone! Moreover, they are so soft and comfy on many places. I can thoroughly recommend this product!
Brilliant
Very impressed with the hikers. Nice close fit so pads don't move, low cut for comfort with added back support. Ideal for long days on the water.
ILCA Vaikobi Hiker Experience
I would highly recommend these hikers as for their high quality, excellent durability and snug fit. The pads themselves are better than the Zhik power pads and are really stiff whilst feeling lighter. I have used these in a variety of conditions and temperatures and have found them to be suitable for both the hot and cold days. Overall I would strongly recommend these hikers.
Excellent
Great product. Very strong and efficient for hikking. Even better with the edge padded short.
Good, well-designed hikers
Good Beyer-level hikers, yes they are quite snug (some reviews said go up a size - I’d stick to the Vaikobi advisory) but I remember Rooster saying back with their original Laser hikers "don’t make them swim on you, they need to be tight!" and presumably these Vaikobis will stretch slightly with wear. My previous experience across 3 big hiker brands is that if they’re loose, the pad area slips down your legs and inboard from the optimum hiking zone. So - moral of the story - good hiking gear needs to be strong and tight enough to keep the pads where you need them! The pads were slightly slippery on the deck in Race One, but by the end of R2 they were bedded in well. The support and straps are excellent.
